Don’t Fear The Foam!
Star
San is an acid based no rinse sanitizer. Use only one ounce per 5
gallons of water. Star San is odorless, flavorless, and requires only
one to two minutes of contact time. This product does tend to foam,
which has advantages. The foaming action helps to sanitize cracks and
crevices, but you need to allow extra time for draining. The foaming
action is perfect for plastic fermenters. You can minimize the foaming
effect by adding Star San to the vessel after the water has been added,
and by siphoning as opposed to pouring the solution between vessels.
Since Star San is acid based, contact with soft metals should be kept to
a minimum. Kept in a sealed container, a Star San diluted solution will
stay effective for as long as three to four weeks. Star San comes in original factory container as pictured.
Advantages to using Star San over other sanitizers…
Can
be re-used.  That”s right!  You can mix up a bucket or spray bottle of
star san and as long as it covered it will keep for several weeks.
Stays
effective even with organic matter in the solution.  Star san retains
full effectiveness as long as the PH of your solution is below 3.0. 
Other sanitizers like Iodophor begin losing effectiveness from the
moment you first use them.  Iodophor will actually attack sugars, malt
and other organic matter BEFORE bacteria, and rapidly lose
effectiveness.  Star san is not affected by these factors and remains
effective against bacteria.
NO-RINSE, remaining foam or star san solution is actually beneficial to yeast and breaks down into a nutrient for fermentation.
Does not impart flavors or odors to your finished beer
